Aurora Borealis – which never stops to amaze us

Even those of us who live here can still be rendered speechless by this magnificent sight. You can witness the Northern Lights dancing in the sky from the end of September to March. Here at Risøyhamn Sjøhus, there are fantastic opportunities to spot Aurora Borealis. Whether you prefer to stay on land or venture out to sea, distancing yourself from house lights – we can arrange it for you.

Catering to your camp

Risøyhamn Sjøhus doesn’t offer food, but we will of course assist you in ordering catering. If desired, we’ll get in touch with a catering company and provide you with a menu. This way, you can have food delivered to your doorstep. Vacation is extra relaxing when you don’t have to cook.

Host meetings in our beautiful setting

Risøyhamn Sjøhus has a meeting room available for rent that accommodates 24 people. The room is equipped with kitchen facilities and all necessary equipment, compatible with both Android and Apple products. Break the daily routine and rent our meeting space. We’ll take excellent care of you.

Venture out – with or without skis

We have a groomed ski trail in Risøyhamn for those who enjoy cross-country skiing. The trail can also be used by those who prefer walking. Regardless of your preference, it’s a fantastic way to explore the area.

Sauna – for our guests

All our guests staying at Risøyhamn Sjøhus can rent our sauna. The sauna can reach temperatures of up to 110 degrees Celsius, and those who rent it have access to a cold freshwater shower and a terrace. There’s also a ladder on the pier for those who fancy a cold dip in the sea after a sauna session. Few things match the joy of experiencing hot and cold in beautiful harmony.

Price: 500 NOK per day.

Lavvo

Five minutes on foot from the camp, we have a lavvo you can rent. Bring your lunch or dinner to cook on a charcoal grill or light a fire outside. Enjoy your meal inside the lavvo or on the benches outside. Few things are as delightful as a freshly grilled burger cooked on charcoal or the tranquility felt as flames from the fire dance and illuminate a dark winter evening.

Price: 200 NOK per day.

Fish for your own cod (skrei)

Cod fishing is a popular activity for sports fishers, both locals and visitors. During the cod season from February to April, there’s a lot of activity in the fishing villages along the coast. We offer boat rentals, both large and small.

Cod is known to be a strong fish, making it an exhilarating experience to hook one. Head out to the sea, lean back, and wait for that tug on the line. Enjoy the Northern Norwegian nature and coastal landscape as you try your luck.
